The Fashion Summer Camp at The Miami School fashion styling courses of Fashion & Design offers a comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry, focusing on hands-on learning. The program emphasizes upcycling, fabric work, pattern-cutting, sewing, and patchwork to help students create their final pieces. Students also benefit from integrating digital design and traditional craftsmanship to enhance their design development and garment construction skills. An essential aspect of the program is visual storytelling in fashion, utilizing digital tools to craft compelling narratives through clothing.

 

This year, Kesem at CMU will offer its annual camp from Aug. 10 through Aug. 15 free of charge for any student ages 6-18 years old who has, or has had, a parent or primary caregiver with cancer at any stage. Campers will enjoy a week full of fun activities and a chance to build connections with each other and counselors who understand and are trained to support their needs. “Children of the World” is a multicultural music and arts camp open to all girls entering 1st through 6th grade. Each day of camp students will visit a different region of the world and sing songs, play games, do folk-dances and make a craft and snack from that region. While exploring through song and dance, students will sing in several languages, focus on healthy singing habits, learn music theory concepts like rhythm and solfege, and work together as a team while having fun. A morning snack will be provided, but children should bring a lunch.

The residence includes a gym, movie rooms, common spaces and every student will sleep in single studio rooms with a private bathroom and kitchenette. Spend one week on Tailoring and the next on Styling for a complete and well-rounded experience. Gain exposure to diverse aesthetics, trends, and techniques that transcend geographical boundaries, fostering a unique and expansive understanding of the international fashion scene. In this course, you will learn the basics of styling and editorial shooting, from creating visual looks to planning and executing your own photoshoot. Students will visit showrooms, retail stores, design houses and businesses that are shaping the design industry. Each five-day week is packed with animal encounters, guided tours and themed classroom lessons designed to be fun and engaging for specific age groups. Themes this year include Extreme Animals, Go Wild and Conservation Connections. This London College of Fashion Study Abroad Summer School is aimed at students wanting to know more about fashion design.

 

Combined with Fashion-upcycling, students learn how to create an entire look with coordinated separates and accessories that are often re-purposed from materials otherwise destined for the landfill. Students will work on group and individual projects, from concept development to execution, receiving guidance and feedback from industry experts throughout the course. By the end of the programme, participants will have developed a portfolio of work that reflects their creative vision and understanding of key fashion principles. Over the course of four weeks, students will gain hands-on experience through a combination of lectures, workshops, and practical projects, all guided by professionals from Vogue and other leading industry experts.

Programma

 

This fashion program allows students to understand the fundamentals of the design process. From fashion illustration to creating your professional fashion portfolio to pattern cutting and digital design, students will learn how to create their first fashion collection upon graduation. RISD’s fashion design experience is also one of the oldest on the list, dating back to 1971. Nearly 550 students participate in the pre-collegiate summer programs each year, making it a great option for high school students who seek diversity over an intimate learning environment. Kids ages 4-14 are the focus of Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy’s summer camps based out of the Frick Environmental Center.

 

Kids learn about growing food in the expansive garden and collect fresh eggs, then help prepare dishes from food harvested on the farm. Summer camp at Assemble Pittsburgh offers STEAM camps for kids entering grades 1-9. Camps, happening this year June 16 through Aug. 8, are all about hands-on learning through shared experiences. This year’s weekly themes include Anime Camp, Eco Fashion and Creative Computing Camp. Scholarships are available, and registration is free for Garfield residents.
